We Offer Urgent Care for These Dental Emergencies

Loose Bridges - If your dental bridge feels loose, avoid chewing on that side of your mouth and contact us immediately. More than likely the bonding agent gave way or there is a cavity that developed on one of your supporting teeth. Do not attempt to remove or reattach your bridge by yourself.

Loose Crowns - Avoid eating on that side of your mouth. If the crown falls off completely, do not attempt to glue it back in place. Store the crown in a zip-top bag and bring it directly to our Chandler emergency dentists. If your tooth is sensitive, consider placing a small amount of toothpaste inside of your bridge and pressing it back over your tooth (temporarily.)

Loose Fillings - A loose or leaky dental filling should be repaired immediately. Avoid placing any pressure on that tooth such as biting or chewing. If the broken area is too large for a new filling, you may need a crown.

Broken or Chipped Teeth - If possible, locate the tooth fragment immediately and store it in a sealed container, completely covered in milk or saline. Get to our Chandler dentist’s office within the next hour. Depending on the size of the fracture, we may be able to bond the fragment back into place.

Soft Tissue Damage and Gum Bleeding - Apply firm pressure until bleeding stops. If bleeding is severe, head to the nearest emergency room. For mild bleeding gums, request an exam at your earliest convenience. Physical trauma resulting in a laceration may require sutures or another type of soft tissue dressing.

Loose or Knocked-Out Teeth - Avulsed teeth may be possible to reinsert back into the socket, so long as it’s done immediately. Take care not to touch the root of the tooth. Rinse any visible debris away with gentle running water. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, store it in milk or saline solution. Contact us immediately. For best results, treatment should be administered within the next 1-2 hours.

Tooth Abscesses - Abscessed teeth can range from completely asymptomatic to excruciating toothaches. Each person is different. Early treatment of tooth decay can help prevent abscesses. But if you have an abscess pop up unexpectedly, take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory (such as Motrin or ibuprofen) and contact our office to reserve an exam.

Toothaches - Tooth pain can be caused by a wide variety of factors, ranging from gum recession to decay or abscesses. Treat the symptoms with an over-the-counter pain reliever and contact us to request an exam at your earliest convenience. Consider switching to a sensitivity toothpaste to assist with symptoms until treatment can be scheduled. Keep in mind that toothache symptoms can come and go, but dental infections never resolve on their own.

Cracked Teeth - A cracked tooth can easily worsen into a non-restorable tooth if it’s not addressed early enough. Avoid eating on your tooth and request an appointment to have the tooth examined. Depending on the extent of the crack, treatments will vary.
